Today I came across the posts of Andrew Bird on Measure for Measure. Really inspired stuff. Glimpses into the creative process and insight into these invisible strings that tie writing, producing and listening together. Astute stuff.
Congrats to the song for the Oscar win. It was a really gracious speech and is a beautiful song but I think it is now in the ‘overplayed’ arena. Working from home today I’ve seen the video 3 times in the past hour just flipping past VH1.

Clear Channel bans Springsteen’s new stuff - I like the boss and have heard mixed reviews of his new stuff but he’s not someone I go out of my way to listen to. But the fact that Clear Channel dominates so much of the industry is bad for artists and the public. Not to mention the founder is an Aggie. This guy is my new arch-nemesis.
BTW - if you want to complain to the FTC or email the commissioners, feel free.
Blues and Heritage Festival - Starts today. Looking at the lineup, I don’t know any blues artists and that is a shame.
