269 votes

Friday, September 26th, 2008

Just got done reading a slashdot article stating that 269 votes determined the 2000 election and could have given us President Gore. I’ve not posted much about politics because, well I guess I’ve given up. There are a ton of political bloggers and many of them do it so much better. But I do like to rant.
269 VOTES!!! Goddammit. No Iraq, no bailout, no war on civil liberties, real environmental policy. Seriously, wtf ?!?! I am sure Gore would have fucked something up but nowhere near the scale we’ve seen BuSh/Cheney do.
269 votes! We really need to do away with the electoral college. It serves no purpose. I’ve ranted about this before but if you live in a state that goes the other color, you’re fucked. Electoral college means unless you are a swing state, you probably won’t see either candidate for president in your state, trying to win your vote. Your vote has no value due to the electoral college.
269 votes put us in the shit we are in.

Rasterbating

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

After this weekend’s trouncing of Arkansas, I followed Gammatron’s lead and setup an altar to Nick Saban … in my cube. Generating a lot of feedback from the coworkers, 80% of which are Arkansas fans. The other 20% are LSU fans. hehehe

Happy Birthday Virigina!

Monday, September 15th, 2008

Man I know a lot of people who are procreating. Joel Hardy (world’s best roommate) and his lovely wife, Tonya, gave birth to Virginia Grace yesterday (9/14) @ 1:30 am. Hats off to Tonya who is the toughest broad I know. Went through the whole experience with no epidural.

I hope pics will be sent out soon!

My Birthday

Friday, September 5th, 2008

Today is a very significant (in binary) birthday. Today I am 25. I don’t have another binarily significant birthday until I am 64. So I am going to give it my best shot to quit smoking for this one.

Happy 100000 to me!

Songbird

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

After 12+ years with Winamp, I think I am converting over to Songbird as my media player. I worked from home yesterday (more productive in 1 day than I have been in weeks) and used the hell out of Songbird. With a couple of add-ons, it blew me away what all it could do. Much more mature than the last time I used.

I also downloaded Chrome from Google. Not a bad browser but really needs an ad blocker and I’ve read some pretty scary things about their EULA. But the comic is well done.
