Douchebags are not neutral
Wednesday, July 5th, 2006Since I am on vacation, this will be a shorter Douchebag of the Week but don’t think he’s any less of a douche than any of the others. Ted Stevens, Republican Senator from Alaska and pork barrell asshole, gave an excellent example of how out of touch our elected officials are on the net neutrality issue.
I just the other day got, an internet was sent by my staff at 10
o’clock in the morning on Friday and I just got it yesterday. Why?
Because it got tangled up with all these things going on the internet commercially.
Now you may remember him for his infamous “Bridge to Nowhere” where he believed his pork barrell projects were more important than Katrina aid. It seems to me net neutrality is one of these issues where it can be observed if a politician votes for the public interest or corporate interests. I personally believe any official voting against the public should be chased out of Washington and have their personal property burnt to the ground, but that may be over the top for some. Here is Craig Newmark’s (of Craigslist.com fame) stance and an accompanying Wired article.
